Extending a humble resource to artists or community groups affected by the fires in LA. I have community copies available of the zine I Kickstarted a few years ago in collab with I LOVE MY HOOD and summary postcards by artist Patrick Lugo which offers guidance on being smart when accepting grants from outside organizations, at no cost to you. It is basically written with points to help both parties (but with a lens on the grant recipient) to get an optimal experience of a humanitarian relationship, ethically. It’s not food, water, shelter, nor legal advice, but perhaps there is a nugget in here that may help you in the rebuilding or relief stage to avoid the perils of disaster capitalism, the ones that are more in your control (see Naomi Klein’s The Battle for Paradise: Puerto Rico Takes on the Disaster Capitalists ). For those in the throes of disaster, perhaps you flag this for later, or someone saves it for you when ready.
